Lead Line Cook - The Terrace Kitchen

The Terrace Kitchen is the mobile culinary program at Black Ankle Vineyards, serving seasonal, thoughtfully made food designed to pair beautifully with our wines. Our menu changes with the seasons and focuses on quality ingredients, strong technique, and simple, delicious execution in a fast-paced environment.

The Lead Line Cook is responsible for executing service at a high level, supporting the Chef in daily operations,

and helping lead the line during busy service periods. This role combines hands-on cooking with leadership,

organization, and team support.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Execute menu items accurately, consistently, and efficiently
  • Lead the line during service and ensure smooth flow of tickets
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and timing
  • Assist with prep, batching, and station setup
  • Support and guide line cooks and prep staff during service
  • Communicate clearly with FOH and Chef during service
  • Step in to problem-solve and keep service running smoothly
  • Ensure stations are stocked, organized, and clean
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and minimizing waste
  • Help open and close the food truck

Tasting Room Associate

The Tasting Room Associate plays a key role in delivering warm, memorable guest experiences at Black Ankle Vineyards. This position is guest-facing, fast-paced, and highly collaborative, with team members rotating through multiple roles including host stand, bar, register, and kitchen support. Associates are expected to embody our hospitality standards while supporting both sales goals and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage guests with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm

• Provide knowledgeable wine tastings and guide guests through their experience

• Rotate through multiple tasting room positions, including:

◦ Host stand and guest check-in

◦ Bar and wine service
◦ Point-of-sale/register

◦ Kitchen support and food preparation (as assigned)

• Support wine sales, club sign-ups, and brand loyalty through authentic guest engagement

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of all guest-facing and work areas

• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth service flow

• Follow all safety, sanitation, and service standards 


Required Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must be able to stand and move continuously for up to 8-hour shifts

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (cases of wine, supplies, etc.)

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Strong team player with a positive, flexible attitude

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment 


Physical & Scheduling Requirements This role requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Schedule flexibility is essential, as peak business occurs on weekends, evenings, and during special events.
