It’s the final countdown for 2026, and your final allocation of the year is here to help with the holiday hustle. This is the time of year our reds shine brightest, and work hardest to keep your spirits high. With that in mind, we selected a few more reds for you to sort through so you can add-on as you see fit. There is something for everyone, or lots of somethings for you. However you celebrate, remember what the late great Luther Vandross said many, many times, “Never Too Much.” Read on to see what we've chosen for you this go-round, and don't forget, all club customizations must be made by September 30th!

The star of this cycle is none other than the 11th edition of Slate - A Slate that is sure to please our Slate lovers, and even some of you Slate doubters. This greets you on the nose with dark chocolate, espresso and orange zest. As it opens up you may start to sense a bit of pomegranate. The palate adds maraschino cherries, rose petals, marcona almond, a sweet herbal note, and a warm earthy undertone to the beautiful mélange of flavors. This isn’t a heavy-weight, but it packs a big punch! This is a Slate made to enjoy now, which is why many of the shipments include two bottles so that when one bottle empties, another one opens! I was recently treated to some black sesame chocolate cake and boy oh boy would this go great with that! If I can find the recipe I will share it with y’all.

Another wine quite a few of you will be seeing is the Non-Vintage Syrah, a blend of two fabulous Syrah vintages, 2022 and 2023. This wine is made to drink now, especially with a hearty deep dish style pizza or roasted meats, but food is by no means necessary for enjoyment. My most recent tasting of this wine revealed some lovely flavors of cherry wood, smoked herbs, raspberry compote, vanilla, black pepper, and a lovely balancing citrus note. Add on a few bottles while we’ve still got it, because it won’t be around much longer!

Lastly, a few special new releases have found their way into certain clubs, starting with the 2024 Reserve Chardonnay! We’ve taken special care to make sure we’ve got enough wine to keep our White Wine Clubs running even with the current shortage, and in this case that means getting first dibs on this new release. Full-bodied with a richly textured palate, I got notes of key lime, lemongrass, apricot, fresh picked Granny Smith apple, chamomile, honeysuckle, and more as it sat in my glass. Put this next to a crab cake for a really good time.

Our six and twelve bottle members will be seeing a wine we’ve never made before, and can sadly never make again due to the unfortunate fate of our Grenache vines. Just Once is a brilliant testament to what could have been, a blend of Grenache, Tempranillo, Merlot, and Malbec that creates such an intoxicating mix of flavors that are too many to list here. Look out for another message soon that goes more in depth on what to expect from this special blend.
